Attention Spectrum Subscribers

Starting at 12:59 a.m. October 1, WWL and WUPL may not be available on Spectrum. That means you could lose access to your favorite CBS programming, including NFL football and SEC football, entertainment programming such as NCIS, Young Sheldon, Survivor, and Madam Secretary, as well as your local news, weather and sports. Tell Spectrum to keep WWL and WUPL, by calling 1-844-757-2826.

Information about WWL and WUPL on Spectrum

In order for WWL AND WUPL to be delivered to your home, we negotiate agreements for the rights to carry our station with video service providers like Spectrum. WWL and WUPL have agreements in place with all of the video providers in our area, including AT&T U-verse, DIRECTV, Cable One, Comcast, Cox and DISH. Over the past several years, we have successfully reached multi-year agreements with some of the largest distributors in the country, including DIRECTV, Comcast, DISH and many more.

Unfortunately, so far, Spectrum has refused to reach a fair, market-based agreement with us. If a deal is not reached by 12:59 a.m. on October 1, Spectrum subscribers could lose access to WWL and WUPL.

Q: Why is Spectrum refusing to reach an agreement to carry WWL and WUPL?

A: We cannot speak for Spectrum. But here is what our audience should know: WWL and WUPL are committed to reaching fair, market-based agreements with all the video service providers in our area. Our track record proves it. Over the past few years, we reached hundreds of multi-year deals with cable and satellite companies all across the country, including DIRECTV, Comcast, DISH and many others. It has been disappointing that Spectrum, so far, has refused to reach an agreement.

Q: If WWL and WUPL are off the Spectrum programming lineup, what can I do to avoid missing my favorite sports, news and entertainment programs?

A: You have choices. WWL and WUPL are available on other video service providers in our area including AT&T U-verse, DIRECTV, Cable One, Comcast, Cox and DISH and you can always get WWL and WUPL free over-the-air.

Q: I have heard Spectrum say that WWL and WUPL are demanding a big fee increase, which would lead to higher bills. Is that true?

A: WWL and WUPL have successfully negotiated agreements with all the other providers in our area. In fact, over the past few years, we’ve reached hundreds of deals with cable and satellite companies all across the country. Those providers all felt that they were able to reach a fair deal with us while continuing to offer value to their subscribers. There is no reason why this negotiation with Spectrum should be different.

Q: Isn’t it unfair that I lose access to a channel that I’m paying for just because two companies can’t reach a deal?

A: We agree – it is unfair. After all, you pay your bill to Spectrum every month. You deserve the full set of channels you are paying for. That is why we are working hard to reach a fair, market-based deal with Spectrum.
