2. Set your irrigation system or water in the early morning for best plant health, and soak your plants thoroughly. In our humid climate, we don't want water sitting on the leaves of plants so early morning is the best time of day.
3. Mulch your garden with crushed pine needles or cypress bark mulch, it will help with the weeds and keep moisture in the beds.
4. Harvest and deadhead often for increased production of herbs and to encourage blooms on flowers.
5. Mow your lawn no shorter than 2 inches. A higher lawn will use less water and is healthier.
